The new draft of the Salem Overlay ordinance has been posted on the documents page. Also on that page we updated the memo the board, and the tier map. Here are direct links as well

This is in preparation for the Board of Commissioners Work Session on March 5th. We will see you there.

More Public Meetings!

Just wanted to alert you that there are two upcoming meetings open to the public in the next few weeks. The first is January 31st at 7:00pm at the Gateway Community Church (11677 Brown Bridge Rd, Covington GA 30016). The second is February 21st also at 7:00pm and at the same location. Please join us so we can incorporate your feedback into the overlay!

  • Monday, December 17, 2012 7:00 PM: Public Information Meeting at Historic Newton County Courthouse (1124 Clark St, Covington GA)
  • Tuesday, December 18, 2012 7:00 PM: Board of Commissioners Meeting at Historic Newton County Courthouse (1124 Clark St, Covington GA)

There are two upcoming public meetings about the Salem Overlay. The first is December 17th 7:00 PM at the Historic Newton County Courthouse (1124 Clark St, Covington GA). This is an information meeting to ensure that everyone has another opportunity to hear about the overlay and ask questions about what it means for them and the community at large.

The second meeting is the Board of Commissioner’s meeting on the 18th of December again at 7:00 PM at the Historic Newton County Courthouse. This is a normal Board of Commissioner’s meeting but it will be when the Salem Overlay is up for adoption. Please join us to show support for the ordinance.
